Your Bill You will receive a bill each month. Utility bills are rendered on a monthly billing cycle and go out on the last working day of the month. Utility bills are due on the 15th day of the month following the date rendered on the bill. You can avoid a 10% late penalty by paying your bill on time. If you do not receive your utility bill, you can contact the Perdido Bay Water District directly or you may view your current bill online after the 1st day of the month following the date rendered on the bill. And remember, your water charge is for water used the previous month.
Billing Terms Most of the information on your bill is easily understood, however there may be some codes that require further explanation: P/B (previous balance) is the amount still owed on your account at the time the current bill is being calculated; WR1 is an internal code used to identify a residential service; and Tax is 4% of the current water charge. Note—if your bill has a previous balance your account is past due and subject to disconnection without further notice.
Delinquent Notices Are generated the day following the due date on your bill. If you receive a delinquent notice and have made payment, please contact us immediately. If you have not made payment, your account is subject to disconnection on the date provided on the notice. Services, once disconnected, will not be restored until all of the outstanding balance on the account, plus the reconnect charge, is paid in full. A reconnect charge is $75.00.
Returned Checks There will be a $25.00 fee charged for any check payment returned for insufficient funds. If this occurs, the bill plus the fee must be paid by cash, money order, certified check or cashier’s check only. |
