Rate Incease effective October 31,2007

At the September 24th board meeting, the Perdido Bay Water Sewer and Fire Protection District's Board of Directors voted and unanimously approved an increase for all rate categories by 3% effective with the October 31st 2007 billing. Multiple factors affecting operating costs have continued to increase over the past several years despite our efforts to control costs. Our goal is to continue to provide you with a safe and reliable service. The new rates are listed below:

• Step 1 (base rate)  will be $16.80 for the first 2,500 gallons of water used (0- 2500 gallons).
• Step 2 will be $6.30 per 1,000 for the next 2,500 gallons of water used (2500- 5000 gallons).
• Step 3 will be $4.65 per 1,000 for the next 5,000 gallons of water used (5000- 10000 gallons).
• Step 4 will be $3.35 per 1,000 for anything over 10,000 gallons of water used.

The minimum water charge will increase from $16.95 tax included to $17.47 tax included. This increase will be reflected on the bill you receive the first week of November 2007.
