Elberta Water Carnival |

2009 ELBERTA WATER CARNIVAL
On Friday May 8th 2009, approximately 130 third grade students from seven classes at Elberta Elementary school participated in a Water Carnival that was sponsored by the Perdido Bay Water, Sewer and Fire Protection District. Students participated in activities, experiments, and demonstrations such as making edible aquifers, conducting filtration experiments, watching ground water models, constructing water cycle jars and participating in a water cycle demonstration.
The purpose of the Carnival was to educate the children in protecting our ground water. Representatives from the Perdido Bay Water, Seweer and Fire Protection District, Alabama Department of Environmental Management, Alabama Rural Water Association and the Baldwin County Extension Office helped to make the day a huge hit with the students and teachers as well. This was the fourth year that the Perdido Bay Water, Sewer and Fire Protection District held the Water Carnival for the school.
The Water District would like to thank the many businesses throughout the community that sponsored and helped in making the day a huge success. This year's sponsors were:
