A HURRICANE WATCH and STORM SURGE WATCH have been issued for Baldwin County.
Isaias is forecast to strengthen into a hurricane and turn north, making landfall somewhere along the Northern Gulf Coast, late this week.
Landfall is expected early Friday morning thru afternoon.
● Hurricane and Storm Surge Watches have been issued for coastal Alabama and the western Florida Panhandle. Watches further inland will likely be necessary later today or tonight.
● Tropical Storm Isaias will continue to strengthen as it moves east northeast into the central Gulf
● Isaias will make a turn north and make landfall somewhere along the northern Gulf Coast as a hurricane late in the week
● Increasing confidence in significant impacts to the local area
● Impacts: Damaging winds, life-threatening storm surge, high surf, rip currents, flash flooding, and tornadoes
To Prepare for the Upcoming Storm:
Make sure that all outside items such as lawn furntire, plants, swings, etc. are tied down or secured to avoid damage of flying debris.
Make sure that you know where your water shutoff valve is and clear any debris from around your meter box in case you need to access the box for shut-off.
Turn off all water valves going to outside garages, boat houses, docks, etc.
Emergency Drinking Water
Stock bottles: Store store-bought bottled water if possible.
Reuse jugs: Clean and sanitize empty milk or juice jugs, then fill them with tap water.
Calculate needs: Keep at least 1 gallon per person daily; double that if you have pets or hot weather.
Non-Drinking Water Storage
Fill large vessels: Fill your bathtub, sinks, and clean buckets to use for flushing toilets or cleaning.
